Back at garderie
I forgot to mention that Charlotte started back at garderie last Thursday Sept 1st after summer break. She had been saying 'Anya' whenever she saw l'elephant Bleu posters around the place so I thought she'd be happy to see Anya and Yasmine again. Although this time without Lily. She was a little clingy when I left but not too bad. And there's also Lily who is asking me to stay most mornings when we get to school...not like her at all to be clingy and unsure.
Anyway, Charlotte still goes 4 mornings a week but is off on Wednesdays now, instead of Tuesdays. So I will have both kids on Wednesdays. Drop off for garderie is anytime between 8.30am and 9.15am. So what I am doing is taking Lily to school first (she only has a 5 minute window, not a 45 min window like Charlotte) trying to be there by 8.45am when the bell rings (for an 8.50am start). Then I backtrack to garderie to drop Charlotte off. I am gone from garderie by about 9am, heading straight out for my 50 minute walk along Lake Geneva.
At pick-up time, I am there in time to meet Lily at 11.25am when the teacher brings them all upstairs. We then do different things around town (Migros/Coop or other little jobs) before picking Charlotte up at noon.
I am dreading when Lily starts afternoons after Christmas. After finishing at 11.25am, she goes back at 1.50pm for the afternoon session. Which is a full 1.5 hours. Ridiculous. I pick her up at 3.20pm. So, it's all smack-bang in the middle of Charlotte's afternoon nap. And after Easter it's four 'afternoons' a week. I wonder if there is a lunch programme for the littlies? I have no idea what women who work do with this sort of schedule. I'd been told the Swiss public school system is not good for working women...bloody nightmare, I'd imagine.
