Afternoon naps

Since Charlotte became sick just over a week ago she has only had 2 afternoon sleeps. Normally she would go down at 1pm, and get up between 2.30 and 3pm. What's going on here? Don't tell me she's dropping her only daytime sleep.

Lily is the Sleeping Queen...she dropped her morning sleep sometime around 18 months and then stopped her afternoon sleep around 3 1/2 years (memory is vague and fading). Charlotte stopped her morning sleep around 13 months (one year and one month). Please don't say she's going to stop the afternoon sleep at 2 years and 1 month.

At the moment I put her down at 1pm and she cries and says 'up, up, up, up, up' till I come in and take her out. The one thing it does guarantee is a straight through night time sleep (never much of an issue for Lily, even when she was napping).

That afternoon sleep just gives me some breathing space...well, more like resting time if I don't have anything else to do. Lily understands the concept of Quiet Time (on the whole) and will entertain herself (when she isn't bugging me asking what can she do now). I've noticed Charlotte can be fairly quiet and play for a bit, but it's not the same as 1.5 hours of Charlotte Silence.

We'll see how the next week or so pans out...
