First afternoon at school
I took Lily back to school this afternoon for the first time. MK had done the morning school and garderie drop off/pick ups, then left for work just after 1.30pm. We left around 1.35pm (I figured I'd stick to the same morning times as the start times are 8.50am and 1.50pm) and had a bit of a wait once we got there. The bell went at one stage (not so loud) but turns out it wasn't 'our' bell! Lily was playing happily with her friends when the next bell went and just ran inside. It was her friend Olivia who waved and said goodbye to me! Charlotte was in the pram so I rushed her home and straight into bed, only an hour late at 2pm.
I literally had one hour to myself when it was time to get ready to leave. Pick up in the morning is 11.25am, but in the afternoon it's 3.20pm. Just after 3pm I was getting ready to wake Charlotte up when she woke herself up. I let her walk to school, we waited a bit and Lily came out. We jumped straight on the bus to Lausanne as I had cookies for David (my first cookie drop off to him this year). When I started making them last night I realised I had no eggs, so I made Big Hearted Butter Shortbreads from my favourite cookie cookbook, spread half with dark chocolate then once dry syringed white chocolate dots onto the dark choc.
So the afternoon routine went fine...no major issues except the inconvenience. Still got my time on the white couch, but not that relaxing when you know you only have one hour. And counting.
