Sh!t

Lily never really copied my swear words. Which meant I was never overly concerned about swearing (in moderation) in front of her. Different story with Charlotte. She's taken to saying 'shit'. And I know I shouldn't say this but it sounds so damn cute. She'll be playing by herself, chatting away, and then you'll here 'shit, shit, shit'. Not aggressively, just part of the chit chat. But I do think it's in context of something going wrong.

But every time she says it, I say a quiet No, children don't say that. And leave it at that. Sometimes Lily jumps on the bandwagon and says that it's only for adults, not big kids, not little kids, just adults.

Well, we were in her bedroom just now getting ready for her afternoon sleep and she said 'shit'. I said a quiet no, and she looked me in the eye with a cute look and said 'no shit, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no'. I stifled the biggest laugh I've had to in ages (ok, so when she threw her Raggy at MK last night at the dinner table and it landed on his plate was pretty funny but didn't come close to this).

Wonder if she'll say it while we're away next week. That'd be funny. Not.
