Bad karma re electronics

My Palm Pilot (a 3 year old model) has been out of action for a long time and I am keen to replace it so I have somewhere for my addresses (god forbid I use paper and pen). The computer has been giving us grief and recently hit the skids so we bought a new lapttop. The display on my electronic scales (the one I use for baking) started going crazy and I can't fix it. And the most recent casualty is the digital camera...the lense won't open. MK played around with it, checked out the Troubleshooting guide but nothing. So looks like we'll have to replace it.
