Settling in
Most every day I drop Lily off at school she is clingy and wants me to stay. It's makes me feel sad for her. By the time I pick her up she is happy as Larry and always wants to go back the next day. Yesterday she didn't have time to be sad as we were running late and she was ushered in by the teacher before she had time to think. And walking to school today we saw one of the girls in her class. She has been sweet to Lily before (saying bonjour Lily and hugging her) but Lily has hung back. Today they walked happily to school together, waited in the 'airport terminal waiting area' together, then when the bell went they held hands and went in together. She is probably in second year ecole enfantine as she is really taking Lily under her wing. When I caught up with them downstairs, she was taking Lily's sandals off (that's friendship!) and guiding her inside and sitting down in the circle together. There was no goodbye and kiss from Lily...barely a wave from inside! And she was smiling and happy...it's great to see the Lily I know enjoying herself.
And this morning Charlotte was also happy to be at garderie, no clinging or crying.
I know they have good and bad days, but it's a relief to have both girls settled and happy where they are.
