Tick, tick, tick
I've been awake since just after 5am when Michael's alarm went off for work. Got up not long after and actually got a bit done before the girls woke. Well, other than the regular stuff I was able to try on some clothes and start the process of packing (Stage 1 What still fits?). My shape has changed since this time last year when Jen and Brad visited and I bought some of the clothes. A lot of it I blame on the herniated disc and not being able to move properly/exercise for three months. Hmmm, but I won't be able to keep blaming that so when I get back I am going to keep on the straight and narrow (I've just done a week of low-carb/low sugar and it does make me feel better. Speaking of which I'd barely got into bed last night when I remembered I hadn't rung the airline to order my special meal. So there I was at midnight phoning Delta in the States asking if I was too late. No, but they didn't have high fibre - my first choice - or low carb meal options. So I settled for diabetic).
Anywho, after I dropped the girls to school and garderie I was right onto the bus into Lausanne. Changed my money into $USD, dropped the cookies off to David and did some shopping. So tick all those boxes. In a minute I'm going to make some Little Pear and Cinammon Muffins for the freezer, some Macaroni Cheese for dinner later this week and once I've been to Migros I'll make Blueberry Buttermilk Muffins. The muffins will be for the girls' snack boxes.
Then what? Dig around for my winter shoes and pick a pair or two to take. And move onto Stage 2 of packing (what else do I need? what can I eliminate?).
Oh, and a cute kid story - this morning when we were getting ready to leave I asked Lily to get out her and Charlotte's shoes from the cupboard. Then I heard Charlotte say 'ag-oo Lily'. Lily was excited that Charlotte had said thankyou for giving her her shoes...as was I!
